For me, jewelry is more than adornment
—it’s a connection between generations, a carrier of memory.

Päivi Keski-Pomppu has been designing and making jewelry since 1999. Over the years, she has developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship her work demands. By creating slowly and spending time with each piece, she brings an added layer of meaning to her jewelry.

“As a maker, I feel I can convey something into the jewelry when I spend time with it, reflect, and search for the right shapes,” she says.

Päivi is personally responsible for the creation of every piece she makes, ensuring she knows exactly how each item is crafted and what materials and stones are used.

She graduated as a goldsmith at the beginning of the millennium, and now, a quarter of a century later, her connection to the art of jewelry making is deeper than ever. A dedication to honoring traditional craftsmanship has shaped a passionate relationship with her materials. She takes particular joy in working with metal, shaping it carefully, and refining the smallest details using precious, beautiful elements.

Sustainability is a central part of Päivi’s practice. She works primarily with recycled materials and designs each piece to be durable, maintainable, and repairable—meant to be worn, cherished, and passed down through generations. Every item she creates bears her maker’s mark, a symbol of authorship and lasting responsibility.

Through her work, Päivi aims to create objects that hold meaning. For her, jewelry is far more than adornment—it is a bridge between generations, a vessel for memory.

Keski-Pomppu’s studio is located in Fleminginkatu 9, Helsinki.
